This is the 41st year of operations for the Las Vegas Sun Summer Camp Fund; and once again, we are planning on sending hundreds of boys and girls 8 through 14 years of age to camp. You can facilitate this process by making sure that the applications and information packets are distributed to needy families. Campership recipients will attend one session at a youth agency camp, with sessions occurring from mid-June through mid-August. All sessions involve overnight stays ranging from 4 to 7 days, at camps located in Nevada, Arizona, California and Utah. The Sun Summer Camp Fund will pay total or partial fees depending upon the applicant's family income and/or special circumstances. We serve children ages 8-14 years old, and a separate Application and Health History Form must be completed for each child who meets our age criteria and wishes to attend camp. While a limited number of applications are sent to school counselors, additional forms will be made available at the Las Vegas Sun Newspaper offices, CCSD School-Community Partnership Program Office and CCSD Area Offices. Applications and Health History Forms may also be acquired online here. We hope that the criteria, guidelines and procedures will assist you in referring applicants. A counselor, teacher, nurse and/or administrator may sign the camp application as the referring source.
